Getting started with Edexcel Online

You are here: Skip Navigation LinksEdexcel > I want to ...

Registration

To use Edexcel Online, you will need to be set up with an account in order to obtain a username and password.

If your centre is already registered for Edexcel Online, you should contact your Edexcel Online administrator and ask them to create a user account for you. You will need a unique and valid email address, as this will become your Edexcel Online username.

If your centre is not registered, or you are unsure who your Edexcel Online administrator is, contact our Online Customer Services team on 0844 576 0024 (+44 1204 770 696 if you are calling from outside the UK) who will be able to help. If they register you, they will take you through security procedures to establish your centre details.

The main login page

The Edexcel Online login page can be found at www.edexcelonline.co.uk.

As well as fields for you to enter your Edexcel Online username and password, you’ll find information about compatibility and hardware and software requirements. There are also links to sites that will allow you to download the latest versions of supported internet browsers, as well as other software that will be useful to you when using the site. For example, a link is supplied to allow you to download Adobe Acrobat Reader. This free software allows you to view and print some of the documents available on Edexcel Online.

Above the username and password fields is a scrolling message that displays information relevant to the site. This could be information about site availability or links to information about new developments.

You will also see a ‘Change password’ link and ‘Having problems logging in?’ and ‘Forgotten your password?’ links.

Your Edexcel Online password

When you log in to Edexcel Online, you will be given the opportunity to change your password to something that you find easier to remember. To do so, click on the ‘Change password’ button on the main login screen.

Please keep your password secure to prevent unauthorised access to Edexcel Online. The candidate information held on the site is covered by the Data Protection Act and responsibility for preventing misuse of an Edexcel Online account lies with the account holder.

If you forget your Edexcel Online password, you can request that a new one be sent to you. To do so, go to the main login page, click on the ‘Forgotten your password?’ link and follow the instructions on the subsequent page.

If you supply incorrect login details three times in a row, your Edexcel Online account will be locked for one hour. You can unlock your account straight away by requesting a new password.

Your Edexcel Online username and password can also be used to allow you to access secure content on the main Edexcel website and request email alerts to notify you when website content changes.

As an authorised user, you will be able to use your details to log in to ResultsPlus, Edexcel’s unique results feedback service. (You can find out more about ResultsPlus here.) You will also be able to log in and contribute to Communities from Edexcel, where centre staff share ideas and best practice with their peers.

As Edexcel launches other online services, you will be able to use your Edexcel username and password to access them, too, where appropriate.
