How many Lead Assessors can be registered for OSCA?
Only one Lead Assessor within a centre or consortium may register for a paper. This is because the accreditation process is a recognition of good practice among an assessment team, whose assessment decisions are internally standardised and submitted by one individual (that is, the Lead Assessor).
How will I be notified of my activity outcomes?
All notices will be sent by email to the registered Lead Assessor. Please refer to the key dates for further information. You can also access this information by logging in to your OSCA account and viewing the details for your unit(s).
What is the fee for OSCA registration?
The OSCA/accreditation support package (including access to a wide range of exemplar/training material) is offered free of charge to Lead Assessors and their teams.
Can I achieve OSCA accreditation for the new GCSEs?
No. At this stage, we provide reference material for Lead Assessors and subject teams to practise marking and review standards.
Why have you removed subjects from EME?
The number of users seeking to gain accreditation via EME was low. Instead, we have refocused our efforts on providing a wider range of exemplar materials across a far greater number of units than we have had in previous series.
If I move centres, will my old centre lose accredited status?
Yes. If you are a Lead Assessor and you move centres, you take your accreditation status with you. Consequently, your old centre must appoint a new Lead Assessor and that individual will need to gain accreditation, even if they were part of your old assessment team.
Why have I not been accredited when all my papers had marks accepted during formal moderation?
Even if your coursework marks were accepted for an examination, this will not necessarily mean that you will gain accreditation. Accreditation takes into account mark coverage and tolerance range. All papers submitted for the specification during the moderation window must represent the whole ability range of the centre.
