About OSCA - Information for accredited Lead Assessors

How do I check my accreditation status?
Logging on to your OSCA qualification account automatically displays a summary of your registration and accreditation status.

How do I renew my registration?
To retain your accredited status you must renew your registration each academic year. Log on to your OSCA account and select the option 'renew' next to the appropriate subject and paper. Renewing each year confirms that you are still the Lead Assessor for the registered paper(s).

Registration renewal is available from mid-September for the following academic year. Please refer to the key dates page for details.

How do I make further registrations?
Log on to OSCA and select the appropriate qualification. If you have no current registrations for the selected qualification, the screens will prompt you through the registration process. If you have existing registrations select 'Make a new registration' at the top of the page.

If someone else at your centre is already registered for that paper, you will not be able to register. Only one person can be nominated from any one centre.

What if I’ve moved to a new centre?
If you fulfil the role of Lead Assessor for your accredited papers at your new centre, please contact your centre administrator and request an Edexcel Online account. Once this has been created, contact online customer services to transfer your accreditation status:

  • DiDA: 0844 576 0031
  • Applied GCE: 0844 576 0025

What is control sampling?
Although you are accredited, you may be required to submit a control sample during a formal moderation window as part of our quality assurance checks. We'll email you if you are selected, or you can check yourself on your OSCA Account Summary page before each formal moderation window.

If selected, you'll be required to take part in formal moderation procedures. Please refer to the 'Accreditation Conditions and Guidance' for further information:

If the control sample is found to be within tolerance and meets the OSCA accreditation criteria, then:

  • the paper will be reaccredited for the full accreditation period from that point onwards
  • the Lead Assessor will not be required to submit a sample for the remainder of the original accreditation period. Once this has passed they may be required to submit again.

If the control sample is not found to be within tolerance or does not meet the OSCA accreditation criteria, accreditation will be withdrawn.
