Email acknowledgements and alerts

One of the great advantages of using a valid email address as your Edexcel Online username is that it allows us to contact you with relevant information or to let you know that a certain process has taken place without you needing to log in and check. We will use your email address to tell you about any new developments or changes to the site which we think will affect you.

You can also use your Edexcel Online username and password to sign up to be informed of changes to pages on this website using the ‘Email alerts’ facility.

It is likely that the alert and acknowledgement facilities will be extended in the future to allow you to request email notification when certain important events or deadlines in the ‘qualification cycle’ occur (for example, registration or entry deadlines). We will contact you when such services are introduced.

The Edexcel Online mailbox

The ‘Mailbox’ menu option accesses your Edexcel Online mailbox. Reports that you order using Edexcel Online will be sent to your mailbox for you to access at your convenience. Each is shown as a separate item of mail in the mailbox. Click on the particular item of interest to view information about the report which has been ordered. Click on the attachment to view the report itself.

This option means that you can order large sets of documents without having to wait online for the order to be processed.

Other messages and information may also be sent to the mailbox in the future; we will notify you in these cases.

Using the online help option

While using Edexcel Online, you can access information about each screen using the online help link. Each screen for which online help is available has a question mark link in the top corner. Clicking on this takes you to a guide to using the screen via our online customer enquiry system, ‘Ask Edexcel’.

If you need help in locating a particular function, you can use the ‘Ask a question’ link at the top of the screen to access the general Ask Edexcel query screen. You can also access an online manual for the service by searching for ‘EOL Manual’ on this screen.

Printing from Edexcel Online

Many screens within Edexcel Online are print-friendly. This means that Edexcel Online formats the information displayed on the screen so that it is all displayed when you print it out. Print-friendly screens have a printer icon in the top corner. Click on this icon to print the information displayed on the screen.

Some of the documents available for printing via Edexcel Online require the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this software installed on your computer, you can download it for free.
