Mark submission

For ICT, marks must be submitted via Edexcel Online. For all other subject areas, centres may choose their preferred method of mark submission:

• Edexcel Online: To submit marks using Edexcel Online, the relevant centre user must be given access. This should be specified by the administrator at the centre responsible for creating new accounts. Further information can be found within Edexcel Online and by referring to Managing your Edexcel Online account.

• EDI (available for all subject areas except ICT): Centres can also submit marks via EDI using the Coursework Mark File format. For information on the use of this file type, please consult your centre MIS (management information system) provider.

Sample identification

For ICT, centres should log on to Edexcel Online to view the selected sample. (This is available before the submission of marks, as with all other subjects.) Centres must also refer to detailed additional information regarding samples found in Section 5 of the document ‘Moderation of eportfolios: guidance for centres’ available on the Applied ICT microsite

For all other subject areas, candidates whose work is required for sampling will be identified on Edexcel Online and on the OPTEMS form.

It should be noted that even when the highest- and lowest-marked candidates are not identified as part of the sample they should still be included in the sample sent to the moderator. There are other instances in which candidates’ coursework should be manually included in the sample; refer to the detailed documents for each subject.

Submission of eportfolio samples for ICT

For ICT, information regarding requirements for eportfolio submission is contained in the document ‘Moderation of eportfolios: guidance for centres’ available on the Applied ICT microsite.
