What is a BTEC Apprenticeship?
BTEC Apprenticeships are a combination of work-based training and education. A BTEC Apprenticeship allows learners to focus on skills development, know-how and understanding to progress from novice to specialist. Apprentices learn while they work, so you can be assured that their knowledge and skills are up to date while they gain invaluable on-the-job experience.
BTEC Apprenticeships are entirely focused on the needs of apprentices and Apprenticeship providers.
• BTEC Apprenticeships are employer-focused
• BTEC Apprenticeships include fit-for-purpose qualifications developed in consultation with Sector Skills Councils (SSC)
• BTEC Apprenticeships will include carefully designed and published assessment materials developed to align with the flexible portfolio-based approach to assessment
• BTEC Apprenticeships are built on core BTEC values of flexibility, employability, progression and quality
• BTEC Apprenticeships are more than just a bunch of qualifications - they are a total solution
• BTEC Apprenticeships are built on a robust quality assurance model
• BTEC Apprenticeships are focused on developing employability skills from the earliest stage
• BTEC Apprenticeships are a clearly defined part of the wider BTEC portfolio and we expect learners to take advantage of the potential to progress to and from many of our other BTEC programmes.
