Registering learners for NVQ

When you have enrolled learners onto an approved Edexcel NVQ programme or individual NVQ units, the learners must then be formally registered with us so that achievement can be reported and awards issued.

You can make registrations using EDI or Edexcel Online.

Registration must be completed within one month of enrolment/sign-up at the centre, unless otherwise agreed, so that registration documentation can be produced at the earliest opportunity after enrolment. Enrolment at the centre is defined as the day on which delivery of the learner’s programme/unit of learning commences.

For centres whose programmes follow the academic year, candidates enrolled/signed up in September must be registered by 1 November of that academic year.

For the roll-on, roll-off and assessment-only programmes that start at various times during the year, registrations can be submitted monthly if this makes administration easier.

In order to ensure that all necessary quality control procedures are carried out, there must be at least a 10-week period between registration and a claim for certification, in line with QCDA regulations.

The NVQ Code of Practice requires centres to notify candidates of their registration status.

You can find out more about NVQ registration procedures, including instructions for registering via EDI and Edexcel Online, by referring to chapter 10 of the Centre Guide, available below.
