We adhere to a number of Ofqual frameworks that recognise qualifications across many awarding organisations.
Register of Regulated Qualifications
The Register of Regulated Qualifications provides a useful insight into the levels at which qualifications are recognised. The register helps learners to make an informed decision about the qualifications they need and helps to compare the levels of different qualifications and progression routes.
Most of our qualifications are listed on the register. Any of our qualifications not on the register follow all the rules and structures for design, level, quality assurance, approval and certification expected of our qualifications that are accredited by the regulator Ofqual for use in the UK.
Qualifications and Credit Framework
The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is a system for recognising skills and qualifications. It does this by awarding credit for qualifications and units (small steps of learning). Each unit has a credit value. This value specifies the number of credits gained by learners who complete that unit. The flexibility of the system allows learners to gain qualifications at their own pace along routes that suit them best. Our BTEC suite of qualifications formally sits on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
