Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, has entered into a partnership with Babcock Education and Training, part of Babcock International Group, one of the UK’s largest training providers. The partnership will see Babcock delivering Edexcel qualifications to their learners all over the UK.

Babcock works with more than 22,000 learners at 8,000 employer sites UK-wide. These include Network Rail, EDF Energy and BMW.

Rod Bristow, President of Pearson UK, said: "In today’s knowledge-based economy, having the right skills and practical experience is vital. It is essential that businesses give their workforce the right education and training they need to ensure longevity in the market and grow the UK economy. Pearson and Babcock will help them to do just that."

Babcock deliver apprenticeships and NVQ qualifications to a wide range of industry sectors, including engineering, automotive, hospitality, retail, leisure and care, as well as cross-sector qualifications such as management and administration.

Trevor Luker, Managing Director of Pearson’s Work Based Learning business, commented: "Pearson is delighted to be forming this partnership with Babcock. Together, we are dedicated to providing high quality workforce development and skills solutions, which enable people to make real progress in their lives."

Alex Khan, Managing Director for Babcock’s Education and Training business, said: "Pearson is ideally placed to work with us, given the scope of our operations in learning delivery. We needed a highly efficient partner to enable us to provide a quality service to our learners and employer partners, who are located throughout the UK in a very wide range of types and sizes of business. We’re looking forward to using our partnership to improve training standards for businesses and individuals throughout the country."
