Benefits

There are many benefits to becoming an Assessment Associate, including opportunities for you to increase your professional development, make a valuable contribution to assessment and boost your income.

  • You will gain a closer insight into the examining/verification process and the standards required. AAs see the full range of abilities and many different approaches. This knowledge is readily transferable into the classroom.
  • You will improve your knowledge of your subject and qualification areas as well as wider educational issues. We provide regular updates, available only to our AAs, which can be particularly useful if you are planning a career break.
  • You will meet other colleagues and have the opportunity to share experiences, frustrations and good practice. We also pay a fee for attending the standardisation and training events, which may be held on a Saturday, as well as covering expenses.
  • Our training is valuable INSET provided at no cost to the centre.

In some cases, we can refund the costs of any supply cover through the Teacher Release* system when examiners are required to attend one of our standardisation events. These funds do not need to be used at the time of the teacher's involvement with Edexcel. Many centres pay for their autumn term supply from what we pay them during the summer examination season.

* Please note Teacher Release is not applicable for vocational AA roles.
