After listening to leisure and tourism teachers and Heads of Departments we will provide the opportunity of both a single award and a double award.
This will be a four unit qualification:
- The Leisure and Tourism Industry - external assessment
- The operations, promotion and sales of Leisure & Tourism - controlled assessment
- The Leisure & Tourism Environment - controlled assessment
- How people spend their leisure time - external assessment

What is controlled assessment?
For the 2009 specification internal assessment will need to be carried out under controlled conditions. This change may alter the way that you deliver this part of the specification. We will, of course, provide you with assistance and guidance on how to manage controlled conditions within leisure and tourism.
