After listening to health and social care teachers and Heads of Departments we will provide the opportunity of both a single award and a double award.
This will be a four unit specification:
- Understanding personal development and relationships - external examination
- Exploring health, social care and early years provision - controlled assessment
- Promoting health and well being - controlled assessment
- Core principles in Health & Social Care - external examination

What is controlled assessment?
For the 2009 specification internal assessment will need to be carried out under controlled conditions. This change may alter the way that you deliver this part of the specification. We will, of course, provide you with assistance and guidance on how to manage controlled conditions within health and social care.
