System provides first-class training solutions to employers, specialising in the fields of transport and logistics, safety, accountancy, health and environment, recruitment, and information technology. With a dedicated team of staff, System enhances and adds value to its employer customers and learners.
The Challenge
System required BTECs, Apprenticeships, NVQs and SAFED accredited qualifications on specific logistical subject areas. Qualifications needed to be relevant to the learners’ job roles, but also flexible enough to suit the diverse sub-sectors that System deals with.
System needed support on demand to ensure learners passed their courses, and their target completion rates were met.
In addition, System wanted qualifications that were delivered efficiently and cost-effectively, to make sure the qualifications were sustainable.
The Solution
Pearson Work Based Learning worked with System to provide innovative Edexcel qualifications in logistics (such as Driving Goods Vehicles), tailored to learners’ needs.
System selected Pearson Work Based Learning because of the flexible learning approach and the recognised brand, which adds value and credibility to the qualifications System delivers.

System’s learners can now develop knowledge and strategies to drive safely on the roads, avoid risk-taking behaviour and drive more fuel-efficiently.
The Outcome
The results speak volumes. Achievement rates are 96%, which is significantly higher than the national average, and System’s employers’ staff surveys have demonstrated an increase in job satisfaction as a direct result of completing training and achieving qualifications. Employers that System works with have seen on average a 5% decrease in staff turnover due to the training intervention delivered, and learners say they feel more valued.
