Our new GCE qualifications for delivery from September 2008 offer innovative and engaging specifications that will motivate and inspire young people. We’ve kept popular topics and made improvements to the structure and choice of assessment. And you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve evolved the existing specifications with relevant and modern themes rather than regurgitating old content.
What makes a difference?
A simple, clear structure – We’ve consulted with you on how best to structure the new specification – so now, not only is it easier to follow but it also offers you maximum choice and flexibility
Accessible papers – We’ve worked hard to make sure the exam paper is easy to follow and uses clear language
The chance to teach topics in greater depth – You can choose which topics to focus on and offer your students a broader perspective of the subject matter.
What’s available from Edexcel?
To complement our GCEs, we have introduced unique support and services such as our e-Spec CD-rom and our brand new Ask the Expert service. You’ll also have free access to ResultsPlus, giving you detailed information that can really make a difference to your students’ overall grades.
We can offer:
Advanced technology – Registration, administration and tracking and certification of students is made easy through our secure web-based management system.
ResultsPlus – A free service available with Edexcel GCEs that provides schools and colleges with unrivalled visibility of performance in examinations. You can see how well individual students, classes or the whole school cohort performed in an examination – right down to question and sub-question level.
A single point of contact – We have regional advisers who can help you with your curriculum choices.
Ask the Expert – If you have specific queries regarding the content of any GCE specification, you can have your questions answered by a Senior Examiner or Modifier through our Ask the Expert service.
Comprehensive teacher and learner support – All Edexcel GCE qualifications are complemented by a full range of published materials, including free interactive specifications and tutor support materials.
Professional Training and Development – Each year, we organise hundreds of training events around the country for teachers delivering GCEs. If you are unable to attend these events in person, you can also register to attend free online seminars.
e-Spec – Innovative and engaging, e-Spec is our course specification on CD-rom, with sample assessment materials and other support that helps you to deliver the course successfully. The e-Spec provides a range of useful information, including:
- a course planner to make it easy to plan delivery
- a video of a senior examiner explaining the changes to the specification
- a customisable student guide to help recruit students.
