|At Pearson, we're extremely proud to be sponsoring the Teaching Awards. We believe in the importance of recognising inspirational teachers for their commitment to helping young people achieve their full potential.
The prestigious awards, now in their twelfth year, are a vital part of the teaching calendar – a chance to take a step back and thank outstanding teachers all over the country for the work they do educating our young people.
The awards programme identifies and celebrates exceptional teachers who are achieving outstanding results, often in the most challenging circumstances.
The Pearson Teaching Awards will take place on 21 October 2012, and will be broadcast on BBC2 on 28 October.
Rod Bristow, President of Pearson UK, says: “Supporting the Pearson Teaching Awards gives us a unique opportunity to champion exceptional teaching professionals across the UK. Pearson has long held lifelong learning to be at the heart of all its business. All young people deserve the very best chance to make progress in their lives through education.
“That is why we believe it’s vital to recognise inspirational teachers for their commitment to teaching and learning and improving the life chances of the next generation.”

The Pearson Teaching Awards would not be possible without nominations from the public, so why not get involved? Nominate your favourite teacher here.
The Thank a Teacher campaign is open all year round, and each Thank You counts as an award nomination.
The Pearson Teaching Awards incorporate the national ‘Thank a Teacher’ campaign, giving young people a voice by enabling them publicly to thank a teacher who has made a significant difference in their lives.
