On Tuesday 8th July, the Guardian reported that a sixth form college was told at the last minute by Edexcel that training for staff in the teaching of the new flagship Diploma courses was cancelled.

Edexcel said, "16 IT training events had been held attended by more then 500 delegates. The postponed event was not on the original schedule but an extra event put on as a result of customer feedback. The level three event will be rescheduled as soon as we have accreditation."

QCA have yet to complete accreditation of level three of the IT Diploma, and it would not make sense to offer training in something that has yet to receive final approval.
