At the Edexcel Achievement in Education Awards last night (5th July), it was announced that Miss Lindsay Dixon is the Edexcel Outstanding Student of the Year 2001. Aged just 19, Lindsay's exceptional educational achievements, tireless commitment to her local community and willingness to help others inspired the celebrity judging panel to choose her.

Eleven winners of the Edexcel Achievement in Education Awards for 2001 have been announced. The winners of the six student categories will now be interviewed for the Edexcel Outstanding Student of the Year Award and the winner of this overall category will be announced at the Achievement Award ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on the 5th July. The Educational Journalism Award winner will also be announced at this event.
